Live updates as busy Welsh road closed 'for some time' due to crash
A road through a busy part of a Welsh city has been closed due to a "serious collision".
South Wales Police put out an alert this afternoon, Monday, August 18, to say the A483 route through Townhill in Swansea has been closed and will remain so "for some time."
Carmarthen Road is closed in both directions between Carmarthen roundabout and the community centre. SWP wrote: "We're at the scene of a serious collision on Carmarthen Road, Townhill, Swansea.
"The road is currently closed in both directions between Carmarthen Road to the roundabout to the Community Centre It is expected to remain closed for some time."
Traffic monitoring system Inrix says there is slow traffic due to an accident from A4118 Dyfatty Street (Dyfatty Traffic Lights) to Pentre-Gethin Road and Google Maps shows severe traffic congestion in the area.
