LIVE: M61 shut after crash with major traffic delays - latest updates

Delays are building on a section of the M61 this morning after a crash.

All lanes have been shut off on the southbound carriageway at junction three for Kearsley Spur. Congestion is currently back to junction four for Farnworth, according to traffic alert service Inrix.

Motorway cameras show a build up of traffic up to the incident. In a tweet, TfGM said: "M61 J3 to J2 Southbound. Lanes one and two (of three) closed.

"This is due to an RTC. Follow @HighwaysNWEST for updates." In an update they later confirmed all lanes had been shut.
