LIVE: M6 closure as police rush to scene after car flips over - latest updates

One lane of the M6 has been closed on the northbound carriageway between junctions 18 and 19 - after a car crashed and flipped onto its roof.

The incident is causing delays on the motorway in Cheshire for traffic heading north towards Lancashire, LancsLive reports.

Traffic information site Inrix reports: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford)."

North West Motorway Police said: "Collision M6 Northbound J18 to 19 at the exit slip for J19 (Knutsford). Vehicle overturned. Police just arriving at the scene now."
