LIVE: All M62 traffic is STOPPED amid crash - latest updates

Long delays are building on a stretch of the M62 this morning after a crash.

One lane has been shut off on the westbound carriageway. It is shut between junction 22 for Rishworth Moor and junction 21 for Milnrow.

Queues are building up to the closure. A tweet posted by the North West Motorway Police said: "Good morning everyone, D block back with you for another day shift.

"We currently have a collision on M62 between junctions 22 and 21 Westbound. National Highways attending. Lane 3 blocked at the moment. Hope you have a good day and take care if you are out and about."

All lanes have now been reopened between J22 and J21 on the westbound carriageway.

One lane remains shut further down between J23 and J22 due to a different crash.

There has been another accident on the westbound carriageway further up.

This is leading to further delays.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, all traffic is now being temporarily held between J22 and J21 on the westbound side.

Traffic is stationary.
