Kylie Minogue announces role in new Stock Aitken and Waterman musical premiering in Manchester

Pop icon Kylie Minogue has today announced her unique role in the brand new Stock Aitken and Waterman musical I Should Be So Lucky which will get its world premiere in Manchester. The musical will feature the songs of the hit producers including a raft of Kylie's early pop classics.

The hit music producer team of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman reunited today in Manchester to announce new details about the show, which will premiere at Manchester Opera House from November 2.

And they confirmed that Aussie Padam Padam pop princess Kylie has a very special role throughout the musical. She will digitally appear as a "specially created character throughout the show".

The musical is named after Kylie's debut chart-topper that first started her music career back in 1987. Kylie said today: "I’m thrilled to announce that I will be joining Stock Aitken Waterman in presenting the new musical, 'I Should Be So Lucky'!

"It is the music that inspired a generation (plus my first five albums!) so to have all the SAW hits in this original story will make for a compelling, funny and heartfelt show. Let’s enjoy the magic all over again!"

The World Premiere of the official Stock Aitken Waterman musical will open at the Manchester Opera House on Thursday 2 November 2023 and run until Saturday 25 November, before embarking on a UK tour. Tickets are on sale now for the Manchester dates.
