ITV Emmerdale's John Sugden actor breaks silence on soap future after debut

Emmerdale's Oliver Farnworth has given fans a taste of what is to come following his first appearance as John Sugden.

Earlier this year it was announced that Victoria Sugden, played by Isabel Hodgins, would soon come face to face with a long lost relative, expanding the Sugden family.

On Thursday (August 8), the day after his debut (August 7), Farnworth appeared on ITVs Lorraine to discuss his arrival with host Christine Lampard.

"We find out quite a lot about him quite early on but there's a a really enigmatic side to him aswell and I've bene filming for two months now and there's a lot of stuff I can't talk about now but it's an absolute rollercoaster," he said.

With filming already underway, Farnworth teased that "There's a lot to come" and John will find himself "slap bang in the middle of the Sugden and Dingle drama, reports the Express.

The Sugden family are Emmerdale royalty, but their presence in the village has dwindled in recent years, with only Victoria flying the flag - but she will soon have family back in the village.

John is set to cause a stir upon his arrival, but how will his reunion with Victoria play out? Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Farnworth said: "I've been here a few weeks now, and it's just been a dream."

"It really is going right into the deep end with the character. He's got a pretty amazing backstory. Obviously half brother to Victoria, which we find out quite quickly, but there's a whole lot of depth to him and little bits just kind of coming out now, but it's been a whirlwind."
