ITV Emmerdale confirms return for popular character after abrupt exit

Emmerdale fans can expect a familiar face to return to the ITV soap next week, according to new spoilers.

Arthur Thomas, who left abruptly earlier this year causing concern among viewers, will be making his way back to the village. He's not holding back either, as he has some stern words for one resident over their recent actions.

Actor Alfie Clarke recently confirmed his return to the show after a period of absence, believed to be due to school exams. From next week, viewers will see young Arthur back on screen, returning from Australia to rejoin his delighted mother Laurel.

Spoilers indicate that while his sister Gabby Thomas is smitten with her new love interest Vinny Dingle, Arthur interrupts them at home. He announces his return and immediately confronts his stepfather Jai Sharma, who has just split from Laurel.

Jai and Laurel are embroiled in a bitter divorce storyline after she ended their relationship due to his lies and mistreatment of other villagers. Jai has since turned against Laurel, attempting to ensure she gets nothing from him, reports the Mirror.

Upon his return, Arthur doesn't hesitate to tell Jai exactly what he thinks about how he's treating his mum. He reveals the toll the divorce proceedings are taking on Laurel, especially following her recent heart attack.
