ITV Emmerdale Tom King's fate 'sealed' as fans 'rumble' game-changing Piper twist

Piper the dog was revealed to be alive during the latest visit to Emmerdale as Tom King handed her over to another family in and fans think his cunning move has potentially provided Belle Dingle with evidence to finally rid herself of him.

The beloved pooch was hit by the deceitful vet (portrayed by James Chase) last week, leaving her fate uncertain until Tom declared there was no hope for her and seemingly put her down in a bid to get closer to his estranged wife Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper).

However, on Wednesday (August 21), ITV viewers were taken aback when Piper, despite having had her own funeral in the Dales, was shown to be alive and heading to a new permanent home as Tom continued to cover his tracks and discredit a "crazy" Belle.

The plot twist was met with a surge of reactions on X, formerly known as Twitter, with numerous viewers relieved to see Piper alive. Prior to the reveal, Emmerdale bosses had been inundated with a significant number of Ofcom complaints.

"I apologise in advance to the scriptwriters when I genuinely thought you killed Piper off and berated you for it. You are back in my good books now", one viewer notably wrote on the social media platform.

However, knowing that no secret stays hidden in the eponymous village, fans of the Yorkshire-based show speculated that Piper could play a crucial role in Tom's downfall, reports the Mirror.

A theory is circulating that Belle might soon reunite with Piper, her dog, now with new owners, and use the microchip as evidence to not only reclaim her pet but also expose Tom's deceitful behaviour.
