'I think so' - Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim breaks silence on Amad injury blow
Head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed he expects Manchester United to be without Amad for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The Ivorian sustained the issue in training in midweek ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He confirmed on his Instagram page on Saturday evening that he expects to be out for "some time".
Amad has been United's best player this season and has gone from strength to strength since Amorim's appointment at Old Trafford back in November, scoring six goals and registering five assists in all competitions.
However, Amorim anticipates United will have to make do without the former Sunderland loanee for the remainder of the season, leaving his team increasingly light on attacking options.
Asked if expects Amad to miss the rest of the season, Amorim told Sky Sports: "I think so, yes. I don't see it like that [the world being against us]. There are seasons when everything happens at the same time. Maybe we will find new ways to create situations.
"We have kids with less responsibility, less weight on their shoulders. They are good players. If needed we will put the kids to play and maybe we will find good things in this moment.
"It is a very good moment in their lives, no matter the moment of our club. We are ready to try to win this game. We want to win this game, we need to win this game.
"Whatever happens in the end it is my responsibility."
Amad is one of a number of players United have travelled to the capital without, with the likes of Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer and Christian Eriksen all missing because of illness and injury-related issues.
"Amad was alone, Ugarte was a kick," Amorim added,
