Hythe Town manager Darren Beale looking to add to his four new faces since taking charge at Reachfields
New Hythe boss Darren Beale remains in the market to strengthen his squad.
Beale has brought in four new signings since succeeding Ira Jackson at Reachfields - and he’s not done yet.
Roarie Deacon was the first name through the door, appointed player-assistant manager, and he’s been followed by Kai Garrett, Mo Kamara and Monty Saunders.
All four were in the starting XI as Hythe were edged 3-2 at home by high-flying Rusthall on Saturday.
Garrett, a player Beale worked with at Ramsgate last season, scored on his debut, adding to Steadman Callender’s opener, as Hythe led 2-0 inside 11 minutes.
Kamara has joined from Raynes Park Vale, and Saunders is a dual-registration signing from Faversham.
It was Deacon’s home debut, having made his first appearance in a 2-2 draw at Sutton Athletic a fortnight ago.
“We’ve got four new faces,” said Beale.
“I’ve worked with Kai and Deacs all last season at Ramsgate and I’ve worked with Mo before.
“It’s the first time I’ve worked with Monty but he’s a good player and he was unfortunate not to get minutes at Faversham. He’ll definitely be getting minutes with us.
“We need a couple more faces, which hopefully we’ll do over the next couple of weeks, and we should be quite strong. There will possibly be one in before the weekend.”
An increased crowd of 208 were at Reachfields to see Beale’s first home game in charge.
It all started so well for a Cannons side who remain outside the Southern Counties East Premier Division relegation zone on goal difference.
But promotion-chasing Rusthall hit back after half-time and when Hythe youngster Hugo Taylor received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away, the visitors took advantage.
