LIVE: M67 traffic congestion due to car fire causing huge delays - latest updates

There is heavy congestion on a motorway heading out of Greater Manchester due to a vehicle fire.

The fire has closed one lane on the M67 eastbound between junction three for Hyde and junction four for Mottram. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have attended the incident.

Delays of at least 30 minutes are being reported with people being urged to allow extra time if travelling through this area. There is around two miles of 'heavy congestion'.

A National Highways North West post said: "M67 eastbound between J3 Hyde and J4 Mottram Greater Manchester. VEHICLE FIRE.

"1 lane (of 2) is closed follow a car fire. @manchesterfire attended.

"30 minute delay and 2 miles of heavy congestion. Allow extra time if heading that way."
