Huddersfield Town interested in transfer move for 12-goal League One midfielder Jack Rudoni

Huddersfield Town have been linked with a transfer move for AFC Wimbledon attacking midfielder Jack Rudoni, with reports suggesting they have had a seven-figure bid for his services already turned down.

The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports that Town, Sunderland and Bristol City have all had bids of £1m-plus rejected by Wimbledon, who were relegated to League Two last season after finishing second-bottom of League One.

Rudoni was a shining light in an otherwise miserable season for Wimbledon, with the 21 year old racking up 12 goals and five assists from a variety of positions including central midfield and both wings.

That makes him a valuable commodity to the Dons as they aim to bounce straight back up into the third tier, with Nixon writing that Wimbledon value Rudoni at ‘significantly more than the £1m offered’ – but their resolve may yet be tested by that interest from the Championship.

Rudoni's impressive output even in a poor side in League One last season would therefore fit the bill nicely for them as they look to add more goals and assists to the side.

Town have an excellent track record for signing players from lower leagues and making them into first-team regulars, with Lee Nicholls, Ollie Turton and Harry Toffolo all joining from League One sides while Josh Koroma and Sorba Thomas have made the step up from non-league level.
