Huddersfield Town fans frustration over Wembley tickets for Play-Off final

A former Kirklees councillor has told of his frustration over trying to book tickets to watch the Terriers' play-off match at Wembley against Nottingham Forest this Sunday.

Richard Eastwood, the ex-Lib Dem councillor for Lindley, said he was taking his son and a nephew to the match after a season ticket holder helped him obtain tickets. Season ticket holders were in the enviable position of being able to order as many as six tickets before the tickets went on general sale.

Town received an initial allocation of 36,486 tickets for the East End of Wembley Stadium and the club received a small number of additional tickets for selected blocks, courtesy of Wembley. In a tweet, Richard said: "Why is it so difficult to get tickets for non-season cardholders? I and many others have had all manner of difficulties. Now relying on a friend who has a season card to help."

Richard said: "It has been very frustrating but fortunately we have got there in the end. I'm not a season ticket holder but thanks to a friend I managed to get some this morning." And Terrier Spirit, a blog about the club has highlighted potential problems regarding Forest fans trying to get tickets in the Town end after the club sold out its allocation.

This morning the blog posted: "Notthingham Forest have sold out their allocation for the playoff final on Sunday and many of their fans have been left without a ticket. Some of these frustrated fans are living up to their nickname of the Tricky Trees, as they have taken to social media to try and con Huddersfield Town fans into buying them tickets.
