Huddersfield mocked after plea to replay Nottingham Forest play-off final
Nottingham Forest supporters have taken great delight in ridiculing Huddersfield Town fans after a petition calling for the Championship play-off final to be replayed was rejected by the Government.
Huddersfield fans were left infuriated by a pair of penalty incidents at Wembley that were not given by either match official Jon Moss or video assistant referee Paul Tierney. In an explanation, the Government said the request concerned "something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for" and that "decisions about sporting events are a matter for their organisers".
Forest fans have now had their say on the rejection. Here is a selection of their comments from our Forest Facebook page...
Maybe we should start petitions to get the 1991 FA Cup Final or 1984 UEFA Cup Semi-Final replayed!!
Tough. Sometimes decisions go for you, sometimes they go against you. If you don't have a shot on target, you don't deserve to get through.
Penalty shmenalty…. Samba would have saved them anyway
Think Terriers fans should be more outraged that their team didn’t manage a single shot on target.
Seriously? Has Huddersfield just found a new comedian? Is this really a genuine story? A petition will need, what, 50,000 probably 100,000 signatures to get it debated. They struggled to even sell 25,000 tickets for their biggest day out.
I’m still wrangling for 1066 replay, I’m sure the arrow was at a dangerous height
Perhaps the Luton and Bournemouth games should be replayed first, wouldn't need a play-off then.......
This cannot be real. If the match was still being played now Samba would still have not had a save to make.
Right enough of this. We had it all season so deal with it. Season over. Maybe if
