How Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund has surprised FC Copenhagen
FC Copenhagen midfielder Rasmus Falk says he is surprised Rasmus Hojlund moved to Manchester United.
The Danish forward began his professional career at Copenhagen, scoring five goals in 32 appearances for the club. In January 2022, Hojlund moved to Austrian side Sturm Graz. The switch kickstarted his career and by August he had earned a move to Atalanta.
His form in Italy, coupled with his appearances for the Danish national team, were enough for Erik ten Hag to agree a £72m transfer fee for the striker this summer. While his rise has been stratospheric, Falk admitted it had caught him by surprise considering how his time in his homeland went.

"It’s a great story," he said. "We are looking forward (to playing against him). For him to get to Manchester United is massive for him. None of us thought it would happen and it will be really interesting to play against him."
Hojlund is not the only Dane in the United squad. Christian Eriksen knows Falk well thanks to their time together at Middelfart Boldklub and latterly Odense. Falk has insisted there will be no trash talk between him and someone he considers to be a close friend.
"My relationship with Christian is very close," the midfielder added. "We don’t see each other all the time but we text and we keep in touch. I spoke with Christian today, over Skype we spoke for quite a while. Obviously when the draw came out we sent some messages.
"There will be no trash talking between us. We know his strengths and we know his weaknesses. He’s a quality player and we have got to get ready because we know what he brings to the game."
