Hamilton Accies ace apologies for telly turn-off with Falkirk as he promises there's more to come from his side

Hamilton Accies defender Dylan McGowan apologised to BBC Alba viewers for serving up a Saturday night damp squib at a soaking Falkirk Stadium.

League One's top two were involved in a tea-time tussle in front of the TV cameras, and almost 5,000 sodden supporters inside the ground.

But the Bairns and Accies drew a blank, keeping the only two unbeaten sides in the division joint-top after nine games.

And McGowan, who helped Accies make it back-to-back clean sheets, knows it was far from a classic for those watching on.

He said: "It was a game that if it was on in the back garden, you'd probably shut the curtains.

"It was one of those 0-0s in that weather that didn't live up to the billing.

"I can only apologise to the avid BBC Alba viewers.

"But we'll try to take the positives from it, which is the clean sheet, we've kept our run going, we are joint-top of the table and we know there's a lot more to come from us.

"We have been creating chances all season and if there was a blot on us, it was that we weren't being clinical enough and putting things away.

"We sort of rectified that last Friday night [in a 5-0 win over Annan] but we didn't create much - but neither did Falkirk.

"I think Falkirk are the top scorers in the league and in Scotland, so for us as a defensive unit it is pleasing to get a clean sheet, but we've got a lot more quality to come going forward.

"Both sides will be disappointed with the way the game panned out, but I think it is a bit like a boxing match; early doors, you need to figure out what your opponent is about.

"We've got the best defence in the league at the moment so as long as we can keep that going and get a bit better in front of goal, with a little bit more quality - which we have - then we
