Gary Neville says Man United will get top four on one condition as trio ‘worry’ Roy Keane

Gary Neville believes Manchester United's top four hopes hinge on the fitness of Luke Shaw.

The United defender only made 12 appearances last season and has not appeared for the Red Devils since their 2-1 away victory over Luton Town in February. Despite appearing for England in the Euro 2024 quarter-final, semi-final and final, Shaw is not expected to be fit for United's Premier League opener against Fulham.

While Erik ten Hag has strengthened his side with the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, United have not signed another left-back. Lisandro Martinez proved against Manchester City in the Community Shield that he can deputise in the ex-Southampton star's absence, but Neville is still concerned by Shaw's absence.

Meanwhile, ex-United captain Roy Keane has some concerns of his own. The Irishman admitted he is worried about United's strikers and goalkeeper Andre Onana, who endured a mixed debut season at Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund has been joined by Dutch international Zirkzee, who arrived for £36m from Bologna. While the 23-year-old is yet to make his competitive debut for the Red Devils, Keane admits he is not yet convinced the duo can score enough goals.
