Fabio Silva to Rangers transfer 'AGREED' as Wolves green light loan amid 'crucial' Philippe Clement factor

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva has agreed a loan move to Rangers, according to a report.

The 21-year-old moved to Molineux from Porto in a massive £35million move three years ago – a then club record fee – but has failed to live up to the hype in the Premier League. And he is said to be ready for a departure from the Midlands having failed to make an appearance in the English top flight in almost two months – with the Scottish Premiership appearing to be the destination he will attempt to kickstart his career.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has stated the Portuguese striker will sign the contract soon which will see him join Philippe Clement's side until June. Record Sport has since checked it and can confirm the forward is likely to join Rangers, with the lure of European football proving strong.

Clement and director of football recruitment Nils Koppen are said to have been "crucial" in securing the deal – which does not contain an option to buy at the end of the campaign. It’s understood Celtic were also interested in Silva at one point.
