Fabio Silva earns rave Rangers verdict as one key thing impresses about 'infectious' new boy

Connor Goldson says new signing Fabio Silva has thrown himself into the Rangers group as the on-loan Wolves man looks to make the most of his short stint at Ibrox.

The £35 million Portuguese striker came off the bench in the win over Kilmarnock for his debut in the final game before the Scottish Premiership winter shutdown and is currently in Spain getting to know his new Light Blues team-mates better with Philippe Clement taking his squad away to La Manga for a warm weather training camp.

Goldson has been impressed with the 21-year-old’s attitude and pointed one crucial aspect as he said: “It was good to get him early. I have only trained with him for two days and he looks good, looks like he is trying hard to settle and seems like a really nice person, he’s talking to all the boys and is not isolated. That’s important when people are only coming for six months. He seems like he works his socks off in training.

“I can’t say too much because we haven’t done certain exercises or played 11-vs-11 scoring goals but the way he works in training is infectious, his pressing is infectious. I think you get that up the high end of the pitch and the rest of the team follows so hopefully I will see more of him this week, he hits the ground running and scores goals for us.”

Goldson, who was speaking to the Rangers Review, reflected on a roller-coaster season and pinpointed the contribution of Jack Butland as a crucial part of their campaign which has seen them lift the Viaplay Cup.
