Erik ten Hag hints at where Manchester United can improve to help Rasmus Hojlund

Erik ten Hag is confident the goals will flow for Rasmus Hojlund once his teammates improve their routines and combinations with the £72million striker.

The 20-year-old has scored three goals so far for United, all of them coming in the Champions League, and his stunning double against Galatasaray was an example of the talent he possesses.

But he's had Premier League games when he has found it more difficult to make an impact and he remains inexperienced at the highest level, with United coaches still working on elements of his game.

Hojlund will come up against his former club FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford on Tuesday, with the Danish side selling him to Sturm Graz in Austria for just £1.5million 18 months ago.

His rise since then has been stratospheric and Ten Hag believes that will be on show for United once he spends more time with his teammates, having missed pre-season and the start of the campaign with a back injury.

"First of all we have to work on our routines, he missed pre-season, missed the first four games, but from the moment he came in he gives the team a lot," he said.

"When the routines and the combinations will be better then that split moment will give him the time to make better decisions to score more goals.
