Thieves snatch £120,000 worth of bikes from showroom in stealing spree

A gang of thieves stole £120,000 worth of motorbikes from a showroom in Wigan.

The suspects showed up to the showroom on Pennyhurst Street in a white transit van and a white Volkswagen Golf between 9pm and midnight on October 13 and 14, police said. They broke a gate lock before reversing up to the building.

The thieves - who were all wearing black and had their faces covered - then climbed onto the van roof and smashed through a first-floor window. The wheeled the bikes out of the window one-by-one, officers added.

The off-road KTM motorbikes were wheeled onto the van roof, then dropped onto some bags below. The gang came back to the showroom twice more and stole more bikes each time.

They spotted leaving via Wilcock Street in the direction of Miry Lane, though where they went from there is unknown. The total of the 14 stolen bikes is worth around £120,000.

Police now want to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has information about the theft. Information can be shared via 101 or 0161 856 7226, quoting log 1003 of 14/10/23.
