Erik ten Hag explains Raphael Varane decision vs Man City as Roy Keane criticises Manchester United star

Manchester United supporters are licking their wounds this evening after fierce rivals Manchester City claimed bragging rights at Old Trafford.

City ran out 3-0 winners at the Theatre of Dreams and took the lead on 26 minutes when Erling Haaland converted a penalty following a foul from Rasmus Hojlund in the area. After the break, the Blues made it two when the Norwegian headed home at the back stick from a Bernardo Silva cross.

The game was put beyond any doubt with 10 minutes remaining as Haaland turned provider for Phil Foden to wrap up the victory. MEN Sport has pulled together the headlines after a disappointing day for the Reds.

Evans and Harry Maguire, the starting centre halves under Claude Puel at Leicester City five years ago, were a mismatch against Premier League top scorer Haaland, who has scored as many goals - 11 - as United in the league this season.
