Stones, Akanji, De Bruyne - Man City injury news and return dates ahead of Chelsea clash

Manchester City showed their class on Tuesday night as they qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with a 3-0 victory over Young Boys.

City were evidently too strong for their Swiss opponents on the night and were 2-0 up at half-time thanks to an Erling Haaland penalty and Phil Foden's wonderful solo effort. Haaland added gloss to the scoreline six minutes after the interval to see the Blues through to the next round.

While the Norwegian had been a doubt for the game, Pep Guardiola will have been pleased to see him get through the European tie unscathed. However, news elsewhere was not so positive for John Stones who was forced off with an injury at the break.
