Elden Ring: What is the game's file size?

Elden Ring releases worldwide on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC later this week, but how big is the game’s file size?

From Software’s latest release is perhaps one of the most anticipated releases of the year and is coming out in a month where Horizon Forbidden West has already released on PS5.

Elden Ring comes from the same developers that have made some of the most critically acclaimed but also genuinely difficult games in recent memory.

They have released Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, while there has also been the remaster of Demon’s Souls on PS5.

Elden Ring promises to be another epic release, as players are tasked with becoming an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.

You will be fighting some truly monstrous bosses in a vast open world setting and looking to battle your way through some of the deadliest dungeons From Software have produced.

In addition to that, there’s the fact that the incomparable George R.R Martin, the writer of the cultural behemoth that is Game of Thrones, has provided material for the world players will be inhabiting when Elden Ring eventually hits consoles.

One would assume that Elden Ring is set to take up a huge chunk of memory on whatever console, or PC, you are playing on.

But that might not be the case.

Per GameSpot, Xbox players with a pre-order can currently pre-load the game, and that looks to have confirmed the file size that players can expect.

It stands at 49.04GB on Xbox, although there is the potential of the game shipping with a day one patch that will increase that file size. No pre-load date has been confirmed for the PlayStation yet, but that is likely to come this week given that the game is shipping on February 25th.
