Elden Ring: How to get every Great Rune in the game

Elden Ring has a variety of bosses for you to fight throughout the lifespan of the story, and you could spend hours and hours fighting your way through the cast of villains in From Software’s latest epic, but how do you get great runes?

These are the powerful objects that grant attribute boosts for you when equipped but there is a very specific way to collect them.

Essentially, you have to beat the game’s Demi-Gods, the cream of the crop of the bosses in Elden Ring.

You’ll know when you’ve done it, as you’ll get a note telling you that you’ve felled a “Great Enemy”.

Once you’ve killed each Demi-God, you can pick up the rune, and it will grant you a passive boost, which is likely to help you in combat later down the line, particularly against the later bosses in the game.

Here’s a guide on what you need to do.

There are seven such runes in the game, which can be collected after seven of the game’s biggest boss fights.

Be sure that, if you do collect them, they will undoubtedly help you later on. Be aware that the great runes will have to be restored at certain divine towers so that they can grant you the sweet XP boost.

You can activate the rune in the divine tower of Limgrave, which can be found at Stormveil Castle. Follow the path from the site of grace at Limgrave tower bridge until you come to a large door. Go through and start climbing to the top of the tower, where you’ll come to a site of grace. At the very peak, there’s a glowing sigil in the centre of the area; you can restore the rune here.
