Diogo Dalot is already giving Erik ten Hag what he wants at Manchester United

As easy as Manchester United found their Carabao Cup third round tussle with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, it featured an array of uplifting success stories.

Not only did the Reds record their biggest win of the season so far, registering a 3-0 triumph, United were also able to recover Raphael Varane and Mason Mount from injury, hand a full debut to Sofyan Amrabat and get Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial back among the goals. As evenings go, Tuesday night was a good one.

United were full value for their victory, dominating proceedings from start to finish. The tie was as good as over when the two sets of players returned to their respective dressing rooms for the half-time interval, with the home side already two goals to the good.

The inverted full-back
