Coronation Street star says 'I'm gonna miss you' as he pays tribute to co-star after leaving party

Coronation Street star Liam McCheyne has told his departing co-star "I'm going to miss you" after attending his leaving party. The teen, who plays Dylan Wilson in the ITV soap, was among those at the send-off for Chris Gascoyne who is leaving the role of Peter Barlow before the end of this year.

The actor has played the character on-and-off for 23 years. Chris briefly revealed in July that he will be leaving the role after becoming the seventh actor to play Ken Barlow's son in 2000. Viewers had been speculating how the serial killer would leave after his crimes finally caught up with him and he was mowed down by cabbie Peter.

Teasing how Peter will eventually leave, Chris previously said: "All I will say is I am delighted with my exit storyline, the scripts are superb and I can’t wait to see the reaction to how Peter leaves the street."

And it appears Chris has already filmed his final scenes and Liam has recently paid tribute to his co-star by posting sweet a photo of himself and Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton in Corrie, with Chris at his leaving party.

The sweet black and photo showed the trio smiling for the camera, with Chris in the middle and his arms around his now-former castmates. "I'm gonna miss you,
