Coronation Street fans make prediction after gutting update on missing character and say 'come back'

Coronation Street fans seem to have been left with more questions after an update was given on a missing character while some demanded 'come back'. Viewers of the ITV soap have been asking for months about the whereabouts of Aggie Bailey.

The character, played by Lorna Laidlaw, was last seen in Weatherfield during the summer, but the she suspiciously disappeared from our screens just weeks later. And while she's away, she's completely unaware, as are her children, that her husband Ed Bailey has slipped back into his old gambling habits.

But during Monday night's (November 27) trip to the cobbles, Michael revealed that she wouldn't be reuniting with the family for Christmas because she is currently looking after his Auntie. Michael was gutted by the news but viewers couldn't help but spot how a distracted Ed didn't have much to say.

And the update also confused Corrie fans. One said: "So Aggie can’t spend Christmas with her family and tiny granddaughter who lives with her? As if! #corrie." Another begged: "Aggie come back you’re letting the family fall apart. Ed doesn’t know his a**e from his elbow over ‘ere! #Corrie."

A third posted: "Aggie won’t even be back for Xmas now. Why’s she been out of it this long? #corrie." A fourth predicted: "Aggie will come back to no home Ed will have lost the lot with his gambling addiction... #Corrie." Another added: "Aggie is really missed. There's something missing. #corrie."

It comes as a new Bailey arrived on the scene. For the first time, viewers of the ITV soap were introduced to Sarge Bailey, the father
