Coronation Street star Peter Ash addresses truth behind skinny dipping scenes and shares 'overwhelming' part of Paul's story

Coronation Street star Peter Ash has opened up about the skinny dipping scenes that left viewers in tears. Last month in the ITV soap, the couple faced the continued progression of Paul's Motor Neurone Disease. Paul headed to see his friend, Shelley, whom he met at an MND support group.

But as he told her how he was struggling with his family making decisions for him and not letting him enjoy the time he has left without thinking about his deterioration, Shelley shared some home truths. He then headed home to Billy and told him that he wanted them to spend time together and when Billy suggested some lunch, Paul told him he wanted more of an adventure.

The pair were then seen at an idyllic lake where Paul left Billy stunned when he asked him to strip off to do some skinny dipping. While Billy was reluctant, Paul gave his best puppy dog eyes and told him it was on his bucket list and it wasn't long before the archdeacon caved and the pair stripped off.

Now, Peter has spoken about the scenes for the first time since they aired. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, the actor said: "The stuff at the lake, the skinny dipping, was a fun day. We were out for the whole day
