Bruno Fernandes believes Kobbie Mainoo will only get 'better and better' after his impressive performance for Manchester United against Everton. The 18-year-old was the standout performer for Erik ten Hag's side at Goodison Park, with an impressive midfield display on his first Premier League start.

Mainoo showed maturity beyond his years as he dominated the midfield battle, shining both with and without the ball, as United secured an impressive 3-0 win away from home.

United captain Fernandes was delighted with what he saw from the teenager and he believes Mainoo will benefit enormously from playing alongside some of the best midfield players in the world.

“I talk always about Kobbie. I think he’s a special player too," he told reporters after the win against Everton. “Obviously, people will not talk as much as they will about Garnacho because Garnacho scores goals, does assists and everything.

“But what he puts on the game, what he gives to the team, it's known to anyone (in the squad). I think he has great players in front of him to learn (from) because he plays with one of the best in the world like Casemiro.

“He also has Sofyan (Amrabat) who plays in that position that is really good and he's getting everything from them.
