Chatham Town host Canvey Island at the Bauvill Stadium this Saturday before the two teams meet again in the Isthmian Premier Division on Tuesday night at the Steves Taxis Stadium – Kevin Hake’s side beat Hashtag United 3-0 last weekend

Chatham Town will be looking to strengthen their play-off claim with back-to-back games against a side heading towards relegation.

Canvey Island are bottom of the Isthmian Premier Division and their desperation for points means Chats boss Kevin Hake won’t be taking them lightly.

The teams meet at Chatham’s Bauvill Stadium on Saturday and then again in Essex for the reverse fixture on Tuesday night

Hake, whose side have won back-to-back games, said: “We’ve turned our focus to another busy spell as we face Canvey Island twice in a few days.

“Games coming around like that always bring their own challenges and both teams will learn things from the first meeting.

“For us, it’s about maintaining the same standards and levels of concentration.

“At this stage of the season, consistency is vital, and we know we’ll need to be ready for another tough test.”

Chats had to show some patience and they were rewarded with a goal scored by Dixon shortly after the restart.

Tope Fadahunsi was denied by the visiting keeper when put in on goal and it was captain Reece Butler who got the second, heading in Sene-Richardson’s corner at the far post.
