Southern Counties East League round-up: Whitstable Town one point from the league title, Hythe Town denied in stoppage time, AFC Greenwich Borough close in on Division 1 leaders SE Dons

Whitstable Town need one more point to be crowned Southern Counties East Premier Division champions.

The Oystermen ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at home to Chislehurst Glebe on Saturday but the champagne stayed on ice as Fisher won 4-1 at home to Kennington.

It means Jamie Coyle’s men can win the title on Tuesday night if they avoid defeat at Rusthall.

A crowd of 860 at The Belmont saw Javaun Splatt score twice in the first half before Jack Nelson added the third after the break.

Fisher’s Tom Jones scored twice in their win over Kennington, who had equalised early in the second half through the aptly-named Joe Fisher.
