Carlo Ancelotti's Kobbie Mainoo gesture and other Manchester United moments missed vs Real Madrid

Manchester United slipped to their second pre-season defeat after a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in Houston.

United's evening started poorly when promising midfielder Kobbie Mainoo was forced off with what appeared to be an ankle injury after Rodrygo landed on him following a foul from Casemiro. While Erik ten Hag's medical staff observed the extent of the teenager's issue, the La Liga giants took the lead.

A through ball from Antonio Rudiger found the run of Jude Bellingham who did magnificently to chip Andre Onana. After a second half which was mainly incident free, Joselu put the game beyond doubt with a terrific bicycle kick a couple of minutes from time.

When his signing was announced, United fans knew what to expect from Andre Onana and he showcased his ability throughout. Supporters watching may have noticed his eagerness to move into the back four to help the Reds play out.

However, what the cameras did miss was the Cameroonian's positioning when United were attacking. Onana found himself particularly high up the pitch, midway between the centre circle and his box. Reds fans will start to become accustomed to this as the season wears on.
