BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers spot 'dark horse' of competition as dancer in tears during Blackpool week

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have claimed to have spotted the 'dark horse' of the competition as things heated up in Blackpool. The Elstree studio was a distant memory on Saturday night (November 18) as the stars and crew of the BBC One dance contest headed to the iconic Tower Ballroom.

As per the show's annual tradition, they headed to the seaside town for week nine of the 2023 series and things got off to a glitzy and energetic start with the hit show's group of professional dancers opening the show as they filled the sprung floor to a mega musical mash-up.

But it was then time for the real competition to begin with EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell the first couple to dance during the latest live show as they performed a jive to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham! while Bobby sported a bright blue suit and Dianne donned a yellow frilly dress.

However, it was Angela Scanlon who really caught the eyes of viewers this week. The Irish TV presenter and professional cancer Carlo Gu performed a dramatic Argentine Tango to Back To Black by Amy Winehouse and were seen both dressed in black for the intense routine which came with some moody lighting.

Anton Du Beke complimented Angela's "beautiful" legs before saying the dance was his favourite of the night. Craig Revel Horwood, however, continued his critiquing form throughout the night and disagreed with his fellow judge saying "the legs were stiff." However, he did add that the storytelling and performance was "wonderful."
