Chatham Town Women honour forward Lottie Sharp after her 100th appearance – Keith Boanas’ side beat Cambridge United 3-1 in National Women’s League Division 1 South East

Lottie Sharp celebrated a landmark day in style as she helped Chatham Town Women to a 3-1 win over Cambridge United.

Sharp was presented with a framed shirt before the game to mark her 100th appearance for the club – as she also collected a hat-trick of monthly awards.

The forward was named manager Keith Boanas’ player of the month, won the supporters’ player of the month award and also took home the August goal of the month trophy.

Boanas was delighted to see one of his most consistent performers reach the milestone.

He said: “She was one of the ones who was here when I first came in. She comes from Sussex, and we were thinking, ‘Will she stay?’ She chose to stay with me, and she's won major awards at the end-of-season presentation every season, either for assists or runner-up, manager's player, or player's player.

“She’s definitely consistent. She's an easy name to put on the team sheet. She always gives everything. She works on her game. She listens to everything. She tries to put into action what you coach her.

“She’s a delight to work with, and she's one of those ones that when they say they want to stay, you're like, ‘Oh, thank God for that’.

“A really likeable person, a great player and a joy to coach. I feel very, very happy, very privileged that she's staying around the club and hopefully it's paid dividends for her as well as us.”

Sharp started against Cambridge and played a part in the opening goal after 10 minutes, setting up Amelia Woodgate to score.

Woodgate then added a second soon afterwards as Chatham took control.

“It was a cracking start,” said Boanas.

“We dominated the first half and at halftime, we didn't have to say too much. We probably could have had a couple more as well.
