Amadou Onana would offer something Erik ten Hag doesn't have at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag has filled the three major gaps in his Manchester United squad but the club are not acting like one whose summer business is wrapped up.

£163million has been spent getting Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund through the door but Ten Hag has made no secret of his desire for more. Big teams spend big money nowadays and in trying to catch the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, United must at least match them financially.

"Managers always want more!" Ten Hag exclaimed in his press conference during the build-up to Monday's opener against Wolves, and he was only half-joking. United's window has been good so far but it is not perfect, with certain profiles still absent in the current squad.

Central midfield remains a point of interest for Ten Hag, and investment in that area looks likely if planned sales go through. Fred has already joined Fenerbahce in a €15million deal and Donny van de Beek would also ideally move on. United have rejected a £30m bid from West Ham for Scott McTominay but he is by no means untouchable.
