After splashing out £180million on Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund this summer, United are now scouting the loan market with left-back Sergio Reguilon and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat the club's main follow-up targets. Yet there are ongoing attempts to recoup some much-needed cash.

At different stages and to various degrees, it seemed as though Bailly, Maguire, Martial, McTominay, Van de Beek and others might have been moved on before the 2023/2024 season. However, withstanding any late movement, the United manager will now have to find a way to utilise them.

Bailly, 29, spent last term on loan at Marseille - where he played 23 matches in all competitions - and his squad number was revoked by United upon his return to the club. With only 12 months to run on his contract, the Ivory Coast international will not be at Old Trafford this time next year.
