A469 closed at Brithdir due to police incident - latest updates

The A469 is closed in both directions near Brithdir due to a police incident.

The road is shut from the A4049 for Tirphil to Brithdir.

Traffic service Inrix says the disruption is not causing lengthy traffic delays at this stage.

The closure has affected some bus services in the area, with Stagecoach advising that Service 3 buses would be terminating at Brithdir due to the disruption.

Service 1 buses from Bargoed have also been affected, Stagecoach said.

An update from Inrix at 11.21pm on Wednesday night said: “A469 in both directions closed due to police incident from A4049 (Tirphil) to Brithdir (Brithdir). Traffic is coping well. Affecting Stagecoach buses numbers 1 and 3.”

No details on the circumstances of the incident are available at this stage.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route for the time being.
