LIVE: Four-mile queues on M60 as lanes closed due to 'defect in carriageway' - latest updates
There are long queues on a section of the M60 this morning due to lanes being closed off because of a 'defect in the carriageway'.
Two lanes are currently shut on the anti clockwise carriageway at junction 11 for Eccles and the A57 Liverpool Road.
Traffic is queuing for around four miles up to the incident, according to Highways England.
Workers are on their way to the scene to repair the damage.
Highways England said in a tweet: "Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are closed on the #M60 anti clockwise within J11 (#Eccles #A57) due to a carriageway defect.
"There are 4 miles of congestion leading back to J14 (#M61).
"Our service providers are en route to scene to repair the defect."

According to traffic alert service Inrix, emergency pothole repairs are taking place at the scene.
Travel time through the area is currently around 25 minutes.
