BREAKING: Motorway fully shut due to overturned lorry amid Storm Franklin chaos - latest updates
A section of the M60 has been fully closed off this morning due to an overturned lorry.
The motorway is currently shut on Barton Bridge, between junction 10 for the Trafford Centre and junction 11 for Liverpool Road.
A LGV has overturned, motorway police said.
No injuries have been reported.
People have been urged to avoid the area as traffic is diverted away from the scene.
In a tweet, TfGM said: "FULL CLOSURE on M60 between J10 and J11, in both directions, due to an overturned vehicle.
"Please seek an alternative route.
"Strong rain & high winds with storm Franklin.
"Remember: Lights on! Wipers on! & Take extra care! #TfGMTraffic."
North West Motorway Police said: " Due to an overturned LGV we have a full closure on the M60 Barton Bridge J10 to J11 - Thankfully - no injuries reported - all traffic being taken off at J11 and J10 #TakeCare."
The region is currently being battered by strong winds and heavy rain as Storm Franklin hits the UK.
