M60 closed anti-clockwise between J1 and J25 due to 'police-led incident' - latest updates

The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed anti-clockwise between J1 (Stockport) and J25 (Bredbury) due to what is being described as a police led incident.

Emergency services including North West Motorway Police Group are on the scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.

A diversion has been put in place. Approaching toad users are advised to follow the solid square symbol on road signs:

An update from traffic monitoring service Inrix at 3.57am said: "M60 anticlockwise closed, slow traffic due to police incident from J1 A5145 (Stockport Pyramid) to J25 A560 Crookilley Way (Brinnington)."

Highways England says the event is expected to clear and normal traffic conditions are likely to resume between 5.15am and 5.30am.
