Philippe Clement has urged Dave King and the Rangers board to stop their squabbling and instead join his battle to get the Ibrox side back fighting fit.
Former chairman King has spent the past week firing off stinging shots at the directors he blames for the club’s current mess.
The South Africa-based millionaire has gone on the offensive while at the same time offering to return as and replace John Bennett, who was forced to resign as chairman this week on health grounds.
His challenge to put the question of who controls the club to the vote at an emergency general meeting is unsurprisingly destined to fail, with key Ibrox investors like Douglas Park, George Letham and George Taylor still seething over King’s shock decision to quit the club at the height to Covid pandemic back in 2020.
