West Ham could still make up to three signings before September’s transfer deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano. David Moyes has made five additions since the market opened for business, but Romano is expecting the Hammers boss to remain busy in the final few weeks of the window.

Having fallen short in the Premier League and Europa League last season due to their lack of squad depth, the east Londoners have been working hard on improving their options all over the pitch.

And up to now, they’ve done that, bolstering their defensive numbers with the addition of Moroccan centre back Nayef Aguerd, although the ex-Rennes star hasn’t played competitively after suffering an injury in pre-season.

Next through the door was Alphonse Areola, who made his loan deal permanent despite being backup to Lukasz Fabianski last season, while midfielder Flynn Downes arrived from Swansea.
