Tottenham: 'Brilliant' £60m target now 'one to watch' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur could set their sights on tempting Leicester City talisman James Maddison to Hotspur Way next summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. Although Spurs boss Antonio Conte spent more than £150million during the summer transfer window, he was unable to secure the services of an attacking midfielder.

Despite Leicester’s struggles during the early stages of the season, with them finding themselves in the Premier League’s relegation zone, Maddison has still been in fine form.

He has found the back of the net five times and registered a further two assists in seven top flight appearances so far. Despite that, Maddison was left out of the England squad for the Nations League clashes against Italy and Germany last month, leading to serious question marks over whether he will be heading to the World Cup in Qatar.

It is understood that Tottenham seriously considered making a move for the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window, but he remained in the Midlands.
