Tottenham manager Antonio Conte signing a new contract in north London wouldn’t be a great surprise, according to insider Dean Jones. The Italian’s current contract expires at the end of the season, but Jones reckons that the job he’s done over the last 12 months means there’s every chance he commits his future to the club.
It's approaching exactly one year since Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo and finally became manager, some four months after he almost got the job.
And Conte has already worked wonders at Tottenham, not only guiding the club back into the Champions League at the first time of asking, despite taking over when they were in eighth place, but also upgrading the squad quite significantly.
Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur immediately improved the team and played a key part in Spurs pipping Arsenal to fourth, with the arrivals of Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison taking the squad depth up a notch.
