Traditionally, evaluating a recruiting cycle in late July is a tricky task. There's still a lot of road left before the early signing period opens Dec. 4, and plenty can (and will) change by then. Coaches, invariably, get fired. At least a few elite prospects, inevitably, flip. And in an era when high school recruits cannot legally sign binding contracts until December, there's always room for unfulfilled promises and late drama at the negotiating table.
