Strictly Come Dancing updates as live shows start and celebrities dance for the first time

BBC's Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman hosting the very first episode of the new series, live while Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood will once again judge the competition in the 20th anniversary season of the show.The series has returned on Saturday, September 14 with a fresh line-up of professionals, contestants and a change in the rules.

Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima have been dropped following allegations of training room misconduct, with former dancer Aljaz Skorjanec stepping back into the ballroom after years away as a last-minute replacement.

There is an amazing line-up this year, which includes the professional dancer Amy Dowden who returns to Strictly after sitting out on the 2023 series while she was receiving treatment for breast cancer.

Earlier in 2024 Amy revealed that doctors had told her there was now "no evidence of disease" in her body.There is a brilliant line-up of celebrity contestants taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2024, including the Welsh Opera singer Wynne Evans.
