BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans spot 'desperate' move as Chris McCausland fights 'curse'

Strictly Come Dancing fans have said they have worked out bosses' 'desperate' move as Chris McCausland addressed facing not one but two show curses.

The comedian is among the favourites to lift the Glitterball this year alongside professional dance partner Dianne Buswel, and last weekend they had viewers in tears with their emotional routine to Liverpool FC anthem You'll Never Walk Alone.

But this weekend, as they opened the sixth week of the BBC One dance contest, it was all about the most spooktacular night of the year as Strictly celebrated Halloween early with its annual special.

Judge Motsi Mabuse, dressed as iconic Disney villain Cruella De Vil, hailed it as a "fun way to open the show" and said he had "nailed the character".

Meanwhile, head judge Shirley Ballas, who was channelling Hocus Pocus' Winifred Sanderson, also praised his characterisation and thought he did “incredibly well” but that he “overcooked the bounce” in the dance.

But during his chat with Claudia Winkleman, Chris didn't shy away from the fact that the Samba had been the dance of death for a number of the 2024 series' couples so far, and recognised that going first has also seen some of his fellow competitors end up in the bottom-two.

It didn't go unnoticed by Strictly viewers either. @SirBleasdale said: "#Strictly are desperate to dispel the
