BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Fleur East praised for move as she speaks about being 'unconfident' and hope for daughter

Fleur East has been praised for putting her support behind a new campaign as she shares how she was 'unconfident' as a youngster and doesn't want her daughter to feel the same. The singer and presenter welcomed her first child into the world earlier this year.

Fleur and her husband Marcel Robin announced over Easter that they had welcomed a daughter into the world as they shared the first pictures of themselves with her for the first time and enjoyed a trip out.

At the time, Hits Radio host Fleur confirmed they'd named their daughter Nova and that she made her entrance "via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor".

In a video post to Instagram, Fleur can be seen talking directly to the camera as she says: "Growing up, I was never the most confident child. I used to shy away form anything that put me in the spotlight." She added: "That's hard to believe now, I know," before a clip of her performing her heart out on stage was shown following her success on The X Factor.

Fleur went on to speak about when her family would ask her to sing at various occasions she'd "dread it" before moving on to share how that also had an impact on how she'd wear her hair. "I used to iron my hair straight on the ironing
