The final league game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season saw two centuries being scored -- from Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill -- on a Super Sunday.

Kohli seemed to have put Royal Challengers Bangalore on the cusp of playoffs qualification but Gill helped Gujarat Titans earn a 6-wicket win, resulting in RCB's elimination from the tournament.

As the cricket world went ga-ga over Kohli and Gill's performances in the match, even former India captain Sourav Ganguly shared a few words on Twitter.

But, Kohli and RCB fans weren't entirely happy with Dada. In his tweet, Ganguly lauded the charismatic nature of the IPL that saw two hundreds being score in the final game of the league phase.

The dismissal of Shubman Gill on Day 4 of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and Australia has been the subject of multiple debates. Gill was caught in the slips by Cameron Green off Scott Boland's bowling but replays showed that the ball touched the ground when the fielder made impact. The on-field umpires were not sure about the incident but the third umpire decided to give him out resulting in a massive controversy. Shubman Gill's dismissal on the final ball of the second session became one of the biggest talking points on Day 4 of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) on Saturday. The question on everyone's lips was: why wasn't the soft dismissal call made? Shubman Gill's edge off Scott Boland flew close to Cameron Green in the slips. The tall all-rounder dived towards his left to take a low catch. However, at first glance, there appeared to be some doubt over whether or not the ball touched the ground before Green took the one-handed catch. Amid the uncertainty on whether the catch was clean, the matter was referred to television umpire Richard Kettleborough.
After two days' of dominance by Australia in the World Test Championship, India had a decent day with Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur putting up a great fight. Though Australia were already ahead by 296 at the end of the third day, former India captain and ex-BCCI president Sourab Ganguly feels that if India can restrict the Pat Cummins-led team's lead to under 375, India will have a great chance in the 'Ultimate Test'. "If India has to chase 360 or 370, then India will be in the game. They have Virat Kohli, best Chaser in the world and many class players as well. So anything can happen in the last two days," Ganguly said on Star Sports.
Former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly was all praise for Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur for their resilient performance but he also took a sly dig at the top-order batters on Day 3 of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final at The Oval on Friday. India were all out for 296 in their first innings but both batters scored half-centuries to keep them in the game. Ganguly said that they showed it to the dressing room how to bat on the surface and this can be seen as a "message to the top order".
Team India have a huge mountain to climb in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, with three full days of play left at The Oval. After Australia posted a mammoth total of 469, India crumbled to 151/5 at stumps on Day 2 and trail by 318 runs. India were 71/4 at one stage before Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane added 71 runs for the fifth wicket. However, Nathan Lyon dismissed Jadeja shortly before stumps to put Australia in the driver's seat.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly expressed his disappointment after the Rohit Sharma-led side was outclassed by Australia on Day 1 of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final on Wednesday. India seemed to be in a strong position after reducing Australia to 76/3 in the first session. However, Travis Head scored a counter-attacking century to frustrate India, with Steve Smith also playing his part with the bat. Ganguly said that Rohit allowed Australia easy runs with his field placements at times.
